- make the call seem urgent
- add a personal touch so you can relate to the person over the phone
2. Personal visit
- find conversation topics outside of the real reason of your visit to get the conversation going
3. House meeting
- Those that are constantly sharing or engaging in conversation are you potential community leaders
4. Building committees
